SCUBA DIVER COURSE
PORT DOUGLAS

Do you want to earn a diving certification but are short on time while you are on holiday?

The Scuba Diver course is designed to prepare you for your future as an open water diver, by taking you through the initial stages of theory, pool training, and then open water dives at the Outer Great Barrier Reef. This is basically half of the Open Water Diver course, and is the perfect way to get you started in scuba diving, if you are keen to get started, but don't have the time to complete the full 3 days of training.

As a PADI Eco-Center, we have been recognised not only for our high-quality training programs but also for our efforts in promoting environmental awareness through scuba diving. Beyond this, we are always looking at how to make our operation more sustainable, which even includes using wetsuits made from recycled materials, and upcycling our retired wetsuits.

Above all, we firmly believe that rather than trying to choose which agency is best, the most important decision is to select the best dive instructor and dive school for you. This is where our expert team of highly skilled instructors, is unrivalled when it comes to delivering the best dive training programs in the Port Douglas area, that are challenging, personalized, fun, and there is no better classroom than the Great Barrier Reef!

The Scuba Diver course has three parts, and starts right in the comfort of your own home. Everything begins with the online training or 'eLearning'. This takes you through all of the initial theory, and skill introduction, with quizzes along the way to check your understanding of the diving concepts. Again, where this is not the full Open Water course, you only need to complete the first 3 sections of the online theory.

Once you are here in Port Douglas, the second and third parts of the course are the swimming pool, and open water training sessions. These are conducted over two days, with the first day being at the Mirage Country Club facility, where we learn and perfect the basic dive skills needed for open water divers. This practice time in the pool is the perfect opportunity to become familiar with your equipment, try-out your new skills, and gain confidence, all while diving in a safe and fun environment.

The second day of the course is spent at the Outer Great Barrier Reef, putting all of your new abilities to good use, as you explore stunning dive sites. During your two training dives, we build on everything you have learned so far, by introducing the use of dive computers, how to plan your own dives, and to employ environmentally responsible dives practices. With our schedule including 3 dives per-day, you will have a third and final dive at the reef, which is included in your course at no added cost.

With all of the training completed, we then complete the simple application process for your new certification, with a digital 'e-card' issued to you via email, which can then be downloaded to your device, ready for the next time you go diving!
